REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Acting solely in the interest of the participants, the Retirement Division’s mission is to provide excellent customer service to the active, deferred vested and retired members of the Retirement System, and to work with the Boards of Trustees to safeguard the pension assets to ensure the payment of the promised pension benefits as they become due.
The staff supports the boards of trustees for the General Employees’ Retirement System and the Police & Fire Retirement System which are defined benefit pension systems. The staff calculates pension estimates for vested employees, prepares final benefit calculations when employees retire and processes the monthly pension payrolls. The office also prepares the monthly accounting of funds and coordinates with the actuary, the attorneys, consultants, auditors and investment managers who assist in the management of the plans.
