The Department of Public Works establishes and maintains Pontiac's infrastructure; providing its citizens with roads, storm drains, public buildings and public parks.

Construction Notices

Walton Boulevard
The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner has announced the Walton Boulevard Water Main Improvements Project starting February 2020 with final restoration by early Fall of 2020. The work will be contained between Joslyn and Giddings Roads. 


As the COVID-19 situation escalates and in light of the Governor’s Executive Order, please be informed of the following Sanitation Collection updates: 

•Trash Collection:  
No changes. Please continue to bag all trash and leave room due to increased parked cars.  

•Bulk Waste Collection restarted April 20,2020.

•Yard Waste restarted April 27, 2020.

•Cart Delivery:  
No changes. These services will still be available for deliveries and exchanges.

•Free Landfill Days:  May be resheduled at a later date.
