In response to the City of Pontiac COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, Human Resources remains open and will continue to provide services by phone, email or virtual means. In person drop in services are not available at this time. On an exception basis, in person customer service will be offered by appointment only, and will be limited to new hire onboarding that cannot be conducted via Zoom and other special situations that may require a face to face meeting.

The Human Resources department is committed to advancing the City of Pontiac as a leading employing municipality by creating and sustaining a culture of opportunity, engagement, diversity, and respect.
The Human Resources Manager is charged with the responsibility of coordinating and administering recruitment, examination, compensation, benefits, payroll, training, and classification services for the City. Integral parts of the Human Resource Manager's responsibilities are monitoring and complying with labor agreements as well as creation and monitoring of Federal, State, and City employment laws, polices, and procedures.
