Judge Sets Medical Marihuana Provision Center Application Dates

On December 12, 2019, Circuit Judge Michael Warren set the application window for Medical Marihuana Provisioning Centers to be from January 6, 2020 to January 27, 2020. Click here to read the court order. Click here to read Mayor Waterman's press release.

JUDGE RULES ON MARIIHUANA APPLICATION PROCESS

On December 6, 2019, a potential applicant requested that Judge Warren issue a temporary restraining order stopping the City from accepting Provisioning Center Applications, or otherwise moving forward with the process. The Judge ruled in favor of the City and denied the request.

As a result, the application period remains open through December 10, 2019. Pursuant to Ordinance 2357 (B), the Interim City Clerk is responsible for accepting applications.  If for any reason, he refuses to do so, please notify the Mayor’s Office (248-758-3322) or City Attorney (248-457-7000) immediately.

On September 21, 2018, Mayor Waterman was elected as a new member of the Michigan Municipal League (MML) Board of Trustees.   The Michigan Municipal League is dedicated to making Michigan’s communities better by thoughtfully innovating programs, energetically connecting ideas and people, actively serving members with resources and services, and passionately inspiring positive change for Michigan’s greatest centers of potential: its communities.

Neighborhood Empowerment Project
The Neighborhood Empowerment Project (NEP) strengthens the City's neighborhood areas by providing citizen advocacy groups an opportunity to submit proposals that will help improve neighborhood conditions.

Youth Recreation Implementation Plan

Flagstar Bank announces $10 million investment in city of Pontiac(Oakland Press)

Troy-based Flagstar Bank hopes to spur economic development within the city of Pontiac, announcing a $10 million investment into the city. A ceremony was held on Monday, Sept. 19 with a formal announcement.

The investment comes almost a year since Flagstar bank said it would allocate funds to one of Pontiac’s oldest performance venues for renovations and rebranding as the Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts. The venue is set to open this December.
