Historic Museums

pinegroveThe Oakland County Pioneer and Historic Society is host to the Pinegrove Historical Museum. Pine Grove sits on 4 1/2 acres of land on Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in the mansion of former Michigan Governor Moses Wisner. It consists of the mansion and several out-buildings, including a summer kitchen, outhouse, smokehouse and root cellar. The museum itself is in lower level of the renovated carriage house. The collection includes tools and farm implements from the 1800's to early 1900's, and is a tribute to the early Pioneer Settlers of Oakland County who made their own tools or used mass-produced items then available.
