On March 19, 2009, The Local Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Board appointed Fred Leeb as the Emergency Financial Manager for the City of Pontiac. The Board is led by the Robert Kleine, State Treasurer.

| EFM 13 POINT CHECKLIST TOWARD FINANCIAL SOLVENCY The collective goal of the EFM, the City Council and the Mayor is to restore Pontiac to financial solvency and return governance to local control as quickly as possible. Before that can occur, there is a 13-point checklist that must be completed and in place for six consecutive months. This same checklist is used by Emergency Financial Managers who have been appointed in other communities. |

CITY RECOVERS APPROXIMATELY $2,250,000 FROM Through the diligent work of the counsel and representatives of the City of Pontiac, over $2 million was recovered from the bankruptcy of the North Oakland Medical Center. Click here to read the press release. |
