INCOME TAX FORMS

The mission of the City Income Tax Division is to collect the city's income tax efficiently and equitably within the limits of the city income tax ordinance.

The City Income Tax Division is part of the City's Finance Department and is comprised of two sections:

  • tax form logo Income Tax Division
    Responsible for the collection and processing of income tax returns and issues refunds or assessments as required, and administration of the income tax ordinance.
  • Income Tax Audit & Compliance
    Responsible for the development of compliance programs, enforcement of the income tax ordinance, and collection of past due and delinquent income tax due to the City of Pontiac.

City Income taxes are generated by a flat 1% rate applied to income of City residents, and businesses. Nonresidents working in the City pay 0.50%. Few adjustments to gross income are allowed in computing the tax.

Filing Date: Your return must be filed by April 30 following end of calendar year, or the end of the fourth month following the close of the fiscal year.
