DPW - Sanitation Division Welcome to the Sanitation Division Web Page! The Sanitation Division coordinates the collection of weekly trash collection, special pickup collections, recycling and yard waste collection. Please use this page to get the latest news and contact information.
Trash Collection Schedules and Information Pontiac/Veolia trash collections are Monday through Friday unless changed due to holiday or special circumstances. Click here for a street-level map of trash collection routes Click here for the current holiday trash collection schedule Click here for guidelines regarding trash collection, special pickup, yardwaste and recycling Remember: Place your cart at the curb; overfilling your cart may cause spillage in the streets RCAP-Refuse Cart Assistance Program - This program offers refuse cart set out assistance to those Pontiac residents who are physically unable to set out and retrieve the cart themselves. For a City application letter please contact Sanitation at (248) 758-3700. Criteria: A doctor’s statement is required and there isn’t another person currently residing in the home who is capable of placing the cart at the curb. This program does not include yard waste or Special Pickup items. Free Landfill Days - Next Year's Free Landfill Days will be Friday, April 30th, Saturday, May 1st and Saturday, May 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pontiac/Veolia Transfer Station/Landfill at 575 Collier Road.
